Toto le héros - Jaco Van Dormael - 1991

Thomas Van Hasebroeck tiene ocho años y está convencido de que al nacer fue confundido con su vecino Alfred. Como consecuencia de ello, está viviendo la vida de Alfred, y éste la suya. Sueña con llegar a ser agente secreto para vengarse de su destino. En vez de eso, sin embargo, se hace topógrafo. Un día encuentra a Evelyne. Podría llegar a amarla tanto como amaba a su hermana cuando era pequeño, pero alguien está viviendo ese amor en su lugar. Sesenta años después, el anciano Thomas se pregunta si no habrá desperdiciado su vida. Eso le lleva a recuperar los sueños infantiles, y a lanzarse en busca de Alfred, para recuperar lo que éste le había robado: su propia vida.

Thomas and Alfred were born around the same time; a fire in the nursery had nurses scrambling to save the newborns. Because he felt that he deserved Alfred's good fortune at being born into a wealthy family, Thomas conceives the idea that he and Alfred were switched at birth, and he can't help seeing that his unhappiness should be Alfred's, from the loss of his sister to his inability to have a relationship with the woman Evelyne. So, as his life is ending, he formulates a plan of revenge against his bitter enemy, his lifetime adversary, the man who stole his existence.

Woyzeck - Werner Herzog - 1978

Un ingenuo soldado es victima de la crueldad y la locura, humillado por el sistema y las circunstancias. Woyzeck es un soldado ingenuo, incapaz de ver el mal en los hombres, pensando que si acaso existe, su manifestación será algo extraordinario. Maltratado en el ejército, humillado continuamente por un estúpido y pretendidamente melancólico oficial que cree que la moral y la dignidad es un asunto de clase, y por un médico que le utiliza como exponente de sórdidos experimentos, es llevado a la locura y al crimen. Woyzeck es pobre, y asume su condición y acepta aquellos valores que aseguran que nunca llegará a ser nadie digno.

He hires Monteiro Rossi, an idealistic young man in love with a beautiful communist, as an assistant. He reluctantly helps them when they begin to get into trouble due to subversive activities. Eventually events force him to take a stand.

Madeinusa - Claudia Llosa - 2006

Madeinusa es una niña de 14 años y dulce rostro indígena que vive en un pueblo perdido de la cordillera blanca del Perú. Este extraño lugar se distingue por su fervorosa religiosidad.
